My deepest sympathy to Bernard’s family. Like many on here, i worked with Bernard at Ford. He was always so friendly and willing to help move/fix/install computers. Most importantly, he did everything with a smile — whether he was working or just passing in the hall. He will be missed! May he rest in peace. Rhonda Linville Ford, Livonia

I was heartbroken to learn of Bernard’s passing. Since we were children and on into adulthood, God has always shown through Bernard by his sweet and kind spirit. Cousin, you will be forever missed. Until we meet again, rest in peace. With much love, Glenda

I would like to express my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. I have never met Bernard but it’s clear from the loving expressions he was truly loved by so many. May you find comfort in the words of Jesus at John 5:28,29: “Do not be amazed at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. The Bible is a great source of encouragement during times like this. May the “God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3) comfort you.

My deepest condolences go out to Bernard’s family, friends and working family (co-workers). It is very hard to go to work now and not see Bernard’s smile! He would stop in the hallway and ask me how I was doing and did I have a nice weekend! Bernard had a calming spirit about him and he was always willing to help anyone out in a jam! I am going to miss him at our potluck luncheons, because Bernard had an healthy appetite and he seemed to love everyone’s cooking! Bernard is going to be truly missed, but I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to know him and work with him. May God’s Peace continue to be with you during this very difficult time. Sincerely, Tonya Johnson

It was always a pleasure to run into Bernard in the halls of the offices at the Livonia Transmission Plant. I have known Bernard since 2008 and am so saddened to lose such a wonderful person from the Ford family. It was always a pleasure to have his assistance with any IT problems, he was so knowledgeable and helpful. He was such a friendly and kind gentleman. There were many people who rushed to the posting in our hallway in disbelief over his passing. I am so very sorry for his family and friends as I am sure he was a positive fixture for you all even more so than he was for us here at Ford. I moved away for a couple years and ran into Bernard shortly after returning. He gave me a big hug and asked about my kids. So kind. He will be missed greatly.

To Bernard McBurrow’s family– You raised a VERY special individual in Bernard–It is rare that you come across a person like Bernard—beyond kind, gentle, always willing to lend a helping hand or simply acknowledge you any time of day…There seemed to be nothing he couldn’t figure out as one of our top shelf IT support group here at Ford Motor Company, Livonia operations. I enjoyed my daily interactions with Bernard and just loved his contagiously positive personality and outlook on life. I can’t begin to tell you how much his presence will be missed but his memories will never be forgotten. He touched many here and I am so blessed to have had him in my life. THANK YOU ! Celebrate the awesome life he led and the wonderful things he always did for others. Love you Bernard !!

My deepest sympathies to Bernard’s family and friends. Bernard always stopped to visit and was one of the first to welcome me back out of retirement (Ford friend). I will miss him.

Everyone at Ford adored Bernard. There was always a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone no matter how busy he was. There was an email sent out building wide when the news was passed onto us. See Below: You almost certainly know Bernard McBurrows from his many efforts on behalf of your PC or laptop. Bernard was an IT fixture here in tech support ever since 2002. From his desk on the east side of ATO’s 2nd floor, he was ready, willing and able to quickly answer your call and make his way to your cube whenever you suffered a problem relating to balky software, inoperable voice mail, or IT equipment which needed moving. That conscientious gentleman passed away yesterday at about 48 years of age from a stroke. The photo below was taken in connection with him being the ‘Spotlight Employee’ in the February edition of ‘Torque Digest.’ On behalf of everyone who was lucky enough to meet him we just want you to know that he was a caring and loving soul and he will always be remembered. My deepest condolences. Destiny
