Ruth Williams, attended public school in Spring Bluff community and was at the top of her class. Employed with the Brunswick Memorial Hospital as the First Black Pharmacy Technician, dedicated worker for 20 years and retired in 1979.
Mother Ruth Williams lived during the times of monumental historical events, like the great depression of 1929.
World War II and the attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. She lived during the time of Jim Crow laws, the right to vote for all Americans, and to see President Barack Obama become the first black president. She had the opportunity to meet famous entertainers like Mr. James Brown and BB King. Mr. King became one of her best friends. Mother Ruth enjoyed life, she drove her car until the age of 93, and didn’t want to stop. She received numerous awards from her work place, social organizations, and was interview by the Brunswick News when she turned 100.
Along with her Parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Fred Williams and one sister, Mrs. Lottie Massey.
